Kejriwal- life lessons

The Dilemma of Power, Wealth, and Parenting: Lessons from Kejriwal and Beyond!

_____________________________________

Good times never last long. Power and success are transient, and history has repeatedly shown us how those who rise often fall.

Just like in the case of Arvind Kejriwal—once a leader of anti-corruption, a man who built a political movement on the promise of change. Today, he faced defeat for the same reason that catapulted him to power. CORRUPTION.

___________________

He worked hard, sometimes ethically and sometimes through doubtful means.

But if his ultimate goal was to remain in power by any means necessary, was his journey worth it?

________

Why did he work so hard, or rather, why are we all working hard day in and day out?

Is it to accumulate wealth for ourselves, or are we gripped with securing our children's future?

Today's world and circumstances have conditioned us to believe that providing material comfort is our immediate duty as parents.

In our rigid pursuit of riches, we often forget what truly matters.

There was a time when only fathers were accused of neglecting family life in favour of work. Today, women have joined the race, juggling careers and financial success. Parents compensate for lost time with toys, gadgets, vacations, and expensive gifts.

But what if our children start perceiving us not as parents but as mere providers of wealth and comfort? What if, instead of teaching them self-reliance, we are promoting entitlement?

___________

Wealth may provide a strong foundation, but is it making our children less hardworking and more casual about their future?

Every parent aspires to provide the best for their children—education, clothes, and fulfilment of wishes and desires.

But the real question remains: How much is enough? Where do we draw the line between ensuring a comfortable life and spoiling them to the point of dependency?

_____________

The story of Kejriwal serves as a caution notice!

He may have done everything for political ambition, but like many of us, he also wanted to leave behind wealth for his children.

But what good is a legacy built on corruption?

If he had controlled his greed and maintained perspective during his peak, he could have left behind something far more significant—a lasting example of politics free of corruption.

________

But I also want to ask another question: does leaving behind a legacy of values truly benefit future generations?

Mahatma Gandhi gave the world the ideals of nonviolence, honesty, and selflessness. Yet, his children did not necessarily lead exemplary lives.

If even the most significant world figures in history couldn't ensure their legacy leading to personal success for their children, how do we determine what truly works?

__________

The harsh reality is that life does not follow a universal rulebook. What works for one may not work for another. Some people are rewarded for their wrongdoings, while others are punished for doing the same thing. Evolution is different for everyone, and no formula exists for success, happiness, or legacy.

________

Kejriwal had the opportunity to serve a billion people and leave behind an inheritance that transcended Money.

But power, arrogance, and greed clouded his judgment.

_______________

In the backdrop of the Great Kejriwal's defeat, we all need to ask ourselves these questions.

He was our hero in 2011, and today, we witnessed his downfall for the same reasons which brought him TO the limelight (C O R R U P T I O N)

The keywords attached to him today are sheeshmahal and liquorgate.

The new hero is praveshvarma, the giant slayer, but will he, too, go the Smriti Irani (giant slayer herself) way?

Life moves in circles, and as lord Krishna says, break out of this karmic cycle, and that's when you will see the light leading to liberation.

I will watch your Journey, Dear Kejriwal!

You are an evolving story for me and a life lesson, too.

Modi devi vs Trump devi

 TRUMP DEVI VS MODI DEVI

____________________________

Trump Devi  is like a woman who is married into an old, rich household.

Her family is already powerful. There is only one son; all the sisters are well-settled. Businesses run on autopilot. Servants know their roles. The ageing elders built the mansion decades ago and left behind rules to run the household

The mansion sits high on a hill, admired by neighbors' near and far.  People were once invited in, fed well, and made to feel safe. Even those who know the family bends rules pretend not to notice, because life inside the compound is stable and comfortable.

Around this household stand loyal sidekicks like Canada wale bhaiyya and NATO wale tauji, Europe wali chachi, who rally around whoever occupies the throne. They are not equals, but they are partners. They guard the gates, keep the neighbourhood peaceful, and benefit from the arrangement. The system works because everyone believes in it, or at least acts as if they do.

All this new daughter-in-law, Trump Devi, had to do was maintain the household.

but She slams doors.

She shouts at Canada Bhaiya:

“Tum zyada hi loyal ho gaye ho!”

She scolds NATO Tauji:

“Protection free mein nahi milega!”

Family elders stare in silence.

Guests leave awkwardly.

The mansion still looks rich, but the comfort is gone.

She didn’t destroy the house.

She destroys the illusion that held it together.

Once that belief cracks, people will stop trusting the gates.

______________

Modi Devi’s marriage was very different.

She married into a large, middle-class joint family, which is crowded, noisy, and argumentative. There are many sons. Resources are limited. Old resentments run deep.

Some brothers envy each other. Some actively dislike the house they live in. Neighbor's are suspicious, sometimes hostile. Leadership was never permanent; it  rotated, and many resented anyone who stayed too long at the head.

This household was never admired for its comfort, only for its steadfastness.

There are no servants to absorb shocks. No cushions for mistakes. Every determination is watched, questioned, and sometimes sabotaged. If the house fractures, the consequences are immediate and real.

So this daughter-in-law cannot afford drama.

She fixes leaking taps instead of making speeches. She listens patiently. She absorbs insults. She builds room by room, habit by habit. When sophisticated relatives like Europe wali chachi come visiting with long lists of conditions, paperwork, and moral lectures  she does not shout or threaten. She listens. She waits. She shows she will still be standing tomorrow.

Over time, trust grows not from fear but from consistency.

Erope Chachi during her recent visit to modi devi to join in birthday celebrations   slowly informs her that aapke saath kaam karna hai par

“Dekhiye… humein time chahiye… documents chahiye… standards chahiye.. aap ko maana padega …”

Modi Devi smiles:

“Koi baat nahi. Aaiye chai peete hain aur charcha karte hai. Hum kal bhi yahin honge.”

She waits.

She listens.

She creates credibility, not drama.

on the other hand trump devi shouts at everyone, especially at modi devi

“Deal chahiye toh bheekh maang ke lena padega

Modi Devi thinks:

“Jaldbaazi mein ghar nahi chalta.” sayyam se kaam karna padega aur har zillat ke baad turant palat vaar nahi karna chaheye ..SHE SINGS to herself  APNA TIME AYEGA

Trump devi continues to burn  bridges for applause.

Modi Devi repairs rooms no one claps for.

_______

Canada Bhaiya and NATO Tauji, once loyal SIDEKICKS OF TRUMP DEVI NOW WISPER :

“Kahin aur bhi ghar dekh lein?”

Europe Chachi quietly moves closer to Modi Devi’s house.

Not because it’s flashy but because it’s stable.

______________

The old rules-based order was never fully honest. Everyone knew the richest family  exempted itself when convenient, enforced rules selectively, and bent the law in its own favor. Yet the fiction was useful. American hegemony provided public goods  security, open routes, and economic security, so the world played along.

That bargain worked as long as the household pretended to respect its own rules.

It stopped working the moment the rules were mocked openly.

Now, this is not a transition  it is a rupture.

The rich household is still rich, but people are quietly building alternatives.

where as modi devis  house is still noisy, but it is becoming dependable. Neighbours who once hovered around the trump devi  are now visiting other homes, not because they are grander, but because they feel steadier.

_______________

A new world order is emerging now, but not with a new emperor.

Power is no longer flowing automatically to the strongest house. It is moving toward the houses that work the hardest to stay standing.

The richest mansion may still shine, but the future belongs to the homes that endure arguments, fix their cracks, and keep their doors open without shouting.

That is the shift we are living through.
